Primary Hyperhidrosis – Excess Sweating
Comfortable, affordable and effective treatments are available for this condition that affects up to 3% of the US population.
Do you have uncontrollable or excessive sweating? This condition of primary hyperhidrosis can be an embarrassing condition and make life difficult for some, up to 3% of the US population. It usually starts in the teen or young adult years. Primary hyperhidrosis is due to over-activity of the hypothalamic temperature regulator in the brain which sends signals to the sweat glands all over the body. It can cause face, hands, feet, and armpits to drip with sweat which can make social situations awkward.
Triggers may include:
- Hot weather
- Anxiety or stress
- Spicy food
There are lots of tips to help you live day to day with this condition and there are treatments available to help with the symptoms. These range from medications you take orally or injections of Botulinum toxin to surgical removal which is pretty drastic. Margaret L Larson, ARNP, is very experienced treating with Muscle Relaxing Neurotoxins and laser treatments. In her practice it is apparent the best results are from the Alma Lasers Nd:Yag 1064 Laser Treatments. We have several staff and clients who have had good results, a relief from sweaty hands, feet and armpits. The treatments are relatively comfortable, affordable and effective lasting up to nine months. Call 866-842-7737 to Schedule Your Consultation.
Option 2 for Hyperhidrosis is Muscle Relaxing Neurotoxins
Muscle Relaxing Neurotoxins is a proven treatment option for severe underarm sweating when antiperspirants fail Muscle Relaxing Neurotoxins treats the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when topical medicines do not work well enough in people 18 years and older. It is not known whether Muscle Relaxing Neurotoxins is safe or effective for severe sweating anywhere other than your armpits. Muscle Relaxing Neurotoxins treatments temporarily block the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands resulting in reduced sweating.
Many Americans have severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, commonly known as severe underarm sweating, a treatable medical condition.
Sweat is your body’s temperature regulator, but people with this condition have overactive sweat glands where the sweating significantly exceeds the body’s normal requirement for cooling.
What Our Customers Are Saying
Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!
To: Margaret Larson at Larson Family Medicine
Regarding: Laser treatment for sweating
I have always had a problem with over sweating in both my hands and feet and it came to the breaking point when I could no longer hold a pen/pencil because of how bad my hands would sweat. I was also no longer able to wear flip-flops without my feet sliding out of them. For the longest time, I would refrain from wearing any lotion, avoid shaking hands with anybody, and would constantly be wiping off my hands and feet on any surface I could find. I had tried numerous different treatments, such as Dry Sol and Muscle Relaxing Neurotoxins but none of them ever seemed to work. I thought I was out of options until Margaret Larson suggested trying laser treatments. After each treatment, the sweating seemed to get better and better* and I no longer saw it as a daily hinder. I never fully realized how well it was working until I spent a month in Costa Rica without the treatments and the sweating slowly seemed to come back. Almost immediately after beginning the treatments again, the sweating seemed to slowly disappear again.
Without the help of these treatments from Margaret Larson at Larson Family Medicine, I would still be that insecure woman who would refrain from normal activities we all take for granted. I could not be more thankful for her helping me overcome one of my biggest insecurities and allowing me to partake and no longer be fearful from the simplest thing such as shaking hands with another.
